SCEC is pleased to announce its win of a sound barrier wall project in Lee County, Florida.
This Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 1 project includes the fabrication and installation of 31,000 square feet of precast sound barrier wall along northbound Interstate 75, just south of Immokalee Road.
The sound wall will feature an ashlar-stone finish on both sides to match the existing walls that were installed during the I-75 IROX widening completed in 2010. The extension of a box culvert and installation of new concrete headwall are also included in the scope.
Construction will begin in September, and the project must be complete by May 2013.
Since constructing the first sound wall in Florida in 1986 along I-95 for FDOT District 6, SCEC remains a leader in Florida sound wall construction. More sound walls have been constructed in Florida by SCEC than any other FDOT contractor.
