SCEC COMPLETES NEW OFFICE BUILDING FOR CITY OF WEST MIAMI PUBLIC WORKS

SCEC’s design-build team recently completed a new office for the City of West Miami’s Public Works Department.

The new Public Services Center is home to the municipality’s Public Works, Building and Zoning, and Code Enforcement departments and replaces the City’s 70-year-old Public Works Office next door.

The one-story, block masonry structure was constructed in a tight space within the City’s existing public works compound. The 2,472 square feet building includes offices, a conference room, lounge and reception area.

SCEC worked with the owner extensively during the design phase to successfully value engineer the project to meet the City’s budget and needs while still creating a unique space. The project was completed on schedule and without any owner change orders.

SCEC’s design-build team included Carty Architecture, Project Caine Engineering, and Martinez Engineering Group.

SCEC attended the City’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Public Services Center on October 19.
