SCEC completed a renovation project at Florida Atlantic University’s Davie Campus that created a One Stop Shop for students seeking advising services.  The One Stop Shop is on the ground floor of the four-story Liberal Arts Building, which SCEC coincidentally built in 1994.

SCEC kicked off the renovation project with selective demolition. Existing offices and open lobby space were transformed into a hub based upon Apple’s Genius Bar concept. The center is designed to provide FAU students easy access to admission, registration and financial aid advisers. When the One Stop Shop is closed, the facility is available for study or receptions.  SCEC’s scope of work included mechanical and electrical systems, carpentry and finishes, and a unique acoustical ceiling above the genius bar.

SCEC completed the project under its Construction Management at Risk continuing contract with FAU.  The SCEC team worked nights and weekends to complete the complex renovation over the summer. The occupied building and campus remained fully functional.
