SCEC has successfully completed the final piece of the Town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea’s transformation of its main corridor, Commercial Boulevard between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge.

This ‘Mid-Block’ project, located between Seagrape Drive and A1A/Ocean Drive, tied together the two previous Commercial Boulevard streetscape improvement projects. Those projects were completed simultaneously by SCEC in 2013 and earned the 2014 President’s Award from the Florida Redevelopment Association.

The final beautification and infrastructure improvements project included roadway reconstruction, drainage upgrades, new wider brick paver sidewalks, landscape, lighting and custom aluminum trellis structures.

SCEC completed the Mid-Block project under a Construction Management at Risk contract with the Town. Work was completed in phases so as to maintain access for the businesses and residences affected.

The design team for the project included Architectural Alliance and Flynn Engineering Services.
