SCEC COMPLETES MEDIA CENTER RENOVATION AT BOYD ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL
SCEC has completed the renovation of the media center at Boyd Anderson High School ahead of schedule for the School Board of Broward County. The project was completed16 days early from the contract duration of 204 days. SCEC was issued its Notice to Proceed on August 30, 2016.
SCEC completely demolished about 9,000 square feet of an existing two-story interior space to create a new media center to serve the Lauderdale Lakes high school of 1,900 students. The renovation was designed by MC Harry Associates.
The construction area was surrounded on all four sides by the existing school that remained in full operation. The server room for the entire campus was also within the project limits, requiring extreme care to prevent dust from entering the room and to maintain climate control while the new air conditioning system was installed. The scope also included new restrooms.
SCEC completed the project within budget. SCEC and its staff have extensive experience in educational facility renovations.
